21st Century Gen-X Expander Die
For those seeking the next level in accuracy, expanding case necks using precision mandrels has become the norm to ensure consistent neck tension and concentricity.
The practice of using a mandrel, rather than an expander ball that is pulled up through the neck also eliminates the stretching that this process can also induce.
The NewGen-X Die also includes a viewing window to make die setup even easier ensuring during initial setup you are not bottoming out the mandrel and crushing the case neck.
The 21st Century Gen-X Expander Die will fit multiple cases, the standard size fits cases up to 30-06 in length whist large works for 30-06 and above in length.
The die also helps to keep your cases concentric during the expanding operation, the mandrel is allowed to free float inside the die body to compensate for press ram and shell holder misalignment, the aluminum cap retains expanding mandrel and allows the floating function
The 21st Century Gen-X Expander Die will accept both 21st Century and Cortina Precision mandrels.
- Choose either of the two lengths available of these bodies.
- The STD expander die body is used for 22 Hornet up to 30-06 Length Cases
- The Extra-Long model is for 30-06 length cases and longer up to 338 Lapua Magnum, this version has a silver top cap. We have found this one suits cases 2.2″ or 55mm long or longer, not less.
- Die body is machined internally to accept 3/8″ dia. shank expanders.
- 7/8×14 thread to suit standard reloading press.
